In many respects, the Weminuche is an outdoor adventurer's nirvana. Hunters and hikers alike can lose themselves for days on its 500 miles of trails.

The area around Vallecito Lake is a top pick for hunting Elk, Mule Deer, Turkey and Bear. It is a beautiful country. The area has several U. S. Forest Service campgrounds nearby as well as Accommodations and RV Parks that are available in the valley making it a popular hunter's staging area.
